I’m thrilled to share that I was recently interviewed by Haute Living to discuss some of the top interior design trends for 2024—what’s in, what’s out, and how these trends are reshaping our living spaces. As someone who has grown up in a family of designers and real estate developers, and with years of experience working alongside my husband and the talented team at Accardo Real Estate Associates, I’m passionate about creating interiors that not only look beautiful but also maximize a home’s value. In this interview, I had the chance to dive deep into some of the most exciting trends I see taking shape in the coming year. Read the entire Haute Living article HERE.
Sustainability: A Timeless Principle
When Haute Living asked me about the key trends for 2024, sustainability was at the top of my list. For me, sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s a guiding principle that informs every project I take on. I love blending vintage elements with modern design to create spaces that are not only stunning but also environmentally responsible. Whether it’s choosing eco-friendly materials or repurposing existing pieces, my goal is always to design interiors that are timeless and respectful of our planet. I believe that sustainable design is about more than just being “green”—it’s about creating spaces that will stand the test of time.
The Rise of Vibrant Colors: Green as the New Neutral
Another trend I discussed in my interview is the rise of vibrant colors, especially green. We’re moving away from the sterile whites and muted grays that have dominated for so long, and 2024 is all about embracing bold, rich colors. I predict that green, in all its beautiful shades—from sage to black olive—will become the new neutral. Green represents new beginnings and growth, and it’s such a versatile color that can bring a sense of calm and renewal to any space. I also love how art can transform a room, adding personality and depth, and vibrant colors play a huge role in that transformation.
The Understated Power of Multifunctional Spaces
As lifestyles continue to evolve, the way we design our homes must evolve too. Multifunctional spaces are becoming more essential, and I was excited to talk about this trend during my Haute Living interview. I’ve seen firsthand how creating spaces that serve multiple purposes can enhance both the functionality and the beauty of a home. For instance, in one of my recent projects, we turned a dining room table into a homework station, allowing the family to stay connected while being productive. Whether it’s a living room that doubles as a home office or a bedroom that can transform into a yoga studio, multifunctional design is all about versatility and practicality.
Welcoming Change: Embracing New Trends with Confidence
One of the points I’m most passionate about is encouraging my clients to embrace change and take risks with their interiors. As I shared with Haute Living, the right clients will always be drawn to authenticity. It’s easy to copy what other designers are doing, but carving your own path, thinking critically, and taking chances are what make a design truly special. I love helping my clients explore new possibilities and step outside their comfort zones because that’s where the magic happens. Embracing change isn’t just about following trends—it’s about discovering what really resonates with you and your space.
I’m incredibly excited about what 2024 has in store for interior design, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my insights with Haute Living. Whether it’s through sustainable practices, vibrant colors, multifunctional spaces, or embracing new trends, I believe that interior design has the power to transform not just our homes but the way we live. Here’s to a year of beautiful, meaningful design!
